What counts as a lock emergency?

Being locked out, a key snapping in the lock, keys lost or stolen along with your address, or a door left unsecured after a break-in. In each case, you need the door opened or secured properly, not forced.

What happens when you call

We'll ask where you are, what kind of door, lock or vehicle is involved and what happened. You'll get a quote and a realistic arrival estimate before a technician is sent. Night, weekend and holiday calls are charged at the same rate as daytime calls.

While you wait

• Wait somewhere safe and well lit, such as a neighbour's, a lobby or a nearby café.
• Don't try to force the door, window or lock; damage can turn a simple opening into a repair.
• If there's been a break-in, call the police first and avoid touching the damaged lock until they're done.
• Keep your phone charged so the technician can reach you.

After a break-in or lost keys
